Less Privacy is Good for Us (and You)

Etzioni talks about how he thinks privacy issues and how they are written into the amendments. Etzioni believes that the amendments should be changed. Etzioni thinks that the first amendment does not explain privacy the way it should and the fourth amendment explains privacy better. He also believes that privacy should be incorporated into the fourth amendment and taken out of the first. Etzioni always believes that less privacy is better in a sense.

I believe that privacy is a privilege not a given right. If someone does something that makes the government or other law enforcement bodies not trust them then it is the right of that institution to take away their privacy. If someone decides to call in threats to people or sell drugs illegally the government is going to tap into their phone lines and other things to try to stop them. All criminal and police records are public records and they should be that way, so people know what crimes the people around them have commented. If a person has done nothing wrong, I believe they have an absolute right to privacy unless something suspicious is going on.
