Skunk Ape

I thought this tutorial was helpful. It refresh my memory on how to use online databases, journals, and a few other things I learned in Composition last semester. I also learned some new information about the library resources and the many abilities of the databases. I liked doing the matching type game with the cards. I thought it was a lot more fun than the quizzes. Having to match the parts of the citation was fun and very challenging since we all just started to master the MLA format. I felt that some of the information was repetitive, especially in the videos. I enjoyed a couple of the videos, but some were very dull and made me lose interest at some points. This tutorial was a lot better than I expected it to be. I figured it would be a super boring presentation, like a PowerPoint, but it had some fun activities. I would not really change anything about this tutorial expect make some of the videos more entertaining, if at all possible. I would also try to make the whole thing less repetitive.

  1. Same here. MLA citations are the hardest thing for me and that matching game was pretty fun and helpful.

  2. I agree, a lot of the information was repetitive but having the videos and the matching games made it more interactive. I learned a lot to about the library databases and it refreshed my memory also!

  3. I completely agree. It is a good refresher coming back to school after summer and maybe forgetting how exactly to label your essay in MLA format. The games were definitely the best part.
